Helping to Have Better Conversations Using Improv for High School Students

  • Media Center, Brighton High School (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

High School (grades 9-12) Session:
Helping to Have Better Conversations Using Improv

Registration is closed

Conversation Improv Workshop 6:30-8:30 PM
Media Center, Brighton High School

This workshop for High School Students covers active listening, meeting people where they are, learning to forgive the little mistakes, teamwork, and patience using exercises born from improvisation and filled with laughter. Finding a fun way to talk about some really important concepts in a safe and supportive environment is a major step toward handling difficult conversations with others.

How can I benefit from this workshop?
Think of all those challenging conversations you need to have—interviewing for a job, asking a teacher about a subjective grade, speaking to a friend about a concern, standing up to a bully…
Learn how to improve conversation and listening skills for sharing your ideas while hearing what others are saying!

PJ Jacokes, co-owner of Go Comedy! Improve Theater, and actor (opposite Eminem in “Em, Where Ya Been?” and in the Hungry Howies “Ad Guy” commercials) was Head Instructor at The Second City, Detroit, and now leads Go:U The Improv Academy. He has taught workshops over the last 25 years with organizations such as Ford, Google, The Detroit Pistons, The Detroit Lions, The UM Medical School, BCBS, and many others.
